Island Memories Media provides photography, media, and event services across Prince Edward Island and beyond.

2. What Personal Data We Collect and Why

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent to help with spam detection.

If you use Gravatar, an anonymized string (hash) from your email may be sent to see if you have a profile. After approval, your profile picture is visible publicly with your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, please remove any embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website can download and extract location data from images.

If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies. These last for one year.

If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie will determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

If you log in, we’ll set cookies to save your login info and screen display preferences. Login cookies last 2 days; screen options cookies last a year. "Remember Me" keeps you logged in for 2 weeks. Logging out removes login cookies.

Editing or publishing a post sets an additional cookie that stores the post ID. This cookie expires in 1 day.

Embedded Content from Other Sites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images). Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other site directly and may collect data, use cookies, and monitor interaction.

3. Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

4. How Long We Retain Your Data

Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely to recognize follow-up comments. For registered users, we store the personal info provided in their profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their info at any time (except usernames). Admins can also view and edit that information.

5. Your Data Rights

You may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including anything you’ve provided. You may also request that we delete your data, except any we’re required to keep for legal or administrative reasons.

6. Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
